The former country home of Hamburg Senator Martin Johan von Jenisch (junior) was constructed between 1831 and 1834 according to plans by Franz Gustav Forsmann and Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Located in one of Hamburg’s most beautiful countryside parks on the banks of the River Elbe, it houses a series of rooms displaying furniture and artefacts of the time. Special exhibitions on a wide range of topics from different eras are to be found on the 2nd floor.
